Our fundraising cycling journey continues in 2023 with a team of Booths cyclists taking on the London2Paris challenge!

We’re launching a major fundraising drive for Cure Leukaemia in preparation for our Booths team joining this summer’s epic London 2 Paris cycle ride. This will see 11 colleagues and friends of Booths cycle 300 miles over 4 days from London to Paris, raising vital funds for charity. The ride, billed as “the best four days you can have on a bike, anywhere, anytime” will be led by our MD and cycling enthusiast Nigel Murray, and our Chairman Edwin Booth. Our cyclists, all colleagues or people with a close connection to Booths, come from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and abilities, and are all training and pedalling to help cancer patients access effective new treatments.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses and clinical roles at 12 blood cancer centres across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 20 miles, access to pioneering and potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials. 40,000 people are diagnosed with blood cancer every year, this equates to one person, every 14 minutes, who will receive this devastating and life-changing news.

To support the team in their fundraising efforts, we’re introducing a companywide £14 “Good Grocer” challenge, which will see colleagues do simple challenges, favours or tasks, for friends and family to raise money for Cure Leukaemia. They might bake a cake to share with the office, offer a couple of hours of babysitting, or complete a “gentler” cycling challenge of 14 miles!

If every one of our 3,000 Booths colleagues, raised just £14, we can raise £42,000 for Cure Leukaemia. Look out for our fundraising initiatives at your local store and help us all support families fighting blood cancer.
