Booths Partners with Too Good To Go
Our Partnership
As part of Booths ongoing mission to reduce food waste, we continue to explore ways that we can reduce what goes into our bins and have several initiatives to support this. A recent one is our collaboration with the social impact company ‘Too Good To Go’ whose mission is to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. Its leading marketplace app enables you to reserve ‘Surprise Bags’ of surplus food or short dated products from your local Booths store, to collect at a reduced price.
During a successful pilot we have had great feedback from our customers who were able to try products that they may not have done before at great value, and all while doing something positive for the planet by reducing food waste. Since launching our partnership on the 6th November 2023, our community has helped rescue an impressive 9,264 Too Good To Go Surprise Bags of food from being wasted. This has not only saved our customers £92,640, but it has also avoided 23 tonnes CO2e emissions, equivalent to 5 flights around the world. Together, by reducing food waste, we’re making a positive impact on both wallets and the environment.
How It Works
The Too Good To Go Surprise Bag offers consumers an easy opportunity to rescue good food from going to waste, at great value for money.
A Booths Surprise Bag could include an assortment of items including grocery products, sandwiches, dairy products, ready meals and more. The best bit? You’ll only pay 1/3 of the original retail price for your bag!
Remember, the contents of your Surprise Bag depend on which items haven’t sold that day, so it’s a surprise until you pick it up.
You can find the Too Good To Go app via the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery. Search for your closest Booths store on the Too Good To Go app, reserve your bag ahead of time and pick it up in-store at your scheduled time. It’s that easy!
