Original Biscuit Bakers
Leading manufacturer of gingerbread novelties, the Original Biscuit Bakers have a mission to create unique, beautifully designed biscuits that will bring a smile to everyone’s face. It was in 1987 whilst having a successful Bakery business based at The Bread Bin, in Market Drayton that Tim and Sarah Hopcroft, the founders of Original Biscuit Bakers first had the idea of decorating Gingerbread shapes after their daughter Gemma asked for a pig with a curly pink tail. The attractive characters were soon the bakery’s top sellers, and the decision was made to sell the bakery business and concentrate on the future of the gingerbread biscuits.
It is always a celebration at Booths when new Original Biscuit Bakers characters arrive in store, from unicorns and flamingo shaped delights in summer seasons, to spooky Halloween biscuits in autumn. When the festive season comes around customers can expect to see Santa and his reindeer spreading festive cheer through the shelves and onto our customers faces.
Sometimes you discover a product and when you see it, it makes you smile, and you know that someone you care about will love it. That is what happened when I discovered the range of Original Biscuit Bakers. I knew then that I wanted to bring them into our range, so our customers could smile too. They are delicious hand iced biscuits, perfect as a treat or as a gift! The Halloween and Christmas ranges are fantastic including a bat and ghost biscuit. They are all brilliant editions to our biscuit range, but I must say Tom Tractor is my fave!

You could say they are experts in making you smile with their range of handcrafted treats. They use only the finest ingredients, before their team of talented artists hand-ice every single biscuit. Original Biscuit Bakers now distribute worldwide and are constantly working on product development. They say, “Our mission is to work alongside our customers to develop ideas unique for them whilst, still, maintaining a reputation of quality, service and creativity.
Alongside our desire to create beautiful biscuits we also have the drive to use our business as a force for good. As part of our environmental strategy, we are continuously developing new ways to reduce our impact on the environment, through changes to our packaging, the installation of renewable energy sources within our factory and reduction in food waste.
We are proud to work alongside our local community on charity initiatives, including the sponsorship and mentoring of Project Heart, a charity changing the lives of troubled teens by training them as athletes for boxing events and introducing the same teamwork, discipline, fitness and respect that will enable them to make the best of opportunities as they come along. We also honoured to be an Angel Investor and supporter of the Buddy Bag Foundation – making a difference to children in emergency care by providing them with essential items, to help make the transition into emergency care a little easier.
