Lakes Ice Cream are a multi award winning ice cream producer based in Kendal in Cumbria, the gateway to the Lake District. A family business, established nearly 30 years ago, with a passion to create a range of luxury ice creams using the very best quality ingredients, sourced locally where possible and free from artificial colours and flavourings. During that time the company have created more than 60 innovative flavours using whole milk and cream from South Lakes Organic, a local farm in Cumbria with a herd of cows producing organic milk, which is also supplied to Booths Supermarkets.

As well as their partnership with a local farmer for their milk, Lakes Ice Cream have also collaborated with other fellow, award-winning Cumbrian businesses including the Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding Company, Kendal Mint Company and the Hawkshead Relish Company to create some very unique and authentic Cumbrian ice cream recipes by incorporating delicious, local artisan products with their award winning ice creams.

In 2019 they were proud to be awarded their first 3 Great Taste Awards and are now proud to have a total of 12 Great Taste accolades to their name, which is testament to the superior quality and superb taste of their handcrafted products. The company has grown from the humble beginnings of a husband and wife team to a work force today of over 20, with plans for further growth in 2024. As their reputation and brand has grown from strength to strength, they have plans to develop a new purpose-built factory and dairy this year which will enable them to continue to grow their flavours lines and launch new innovative products including their Lakes Ice Cream for Dogs which will be available from March 2024.
