Learn how to make these adorable paper plate bunnies, the cutest Easter craft.
Looking for some school holiday activities to do at home?
Have an arty afternoon with this easy craft for kids. Follow our simple steps below to create your very own paper plate Easter rabbits, we’ve even put together a list of all the supplies you’ll need to make them.
Supplies you’ll need:
- Paper Plates – you’ll need at least two of them!
- Paint
- A cotton ball
- Three pipe cleaners
- Googly Eyes
Follow these steps:
- Step 1: Stick a cotton ball in the middle of one of your paper plates to make a little nose.
- Step 2: Then stick two googly eyes above the nose and use your paint to create a mouth underneath your bunnies nose.
- Step 3: Take three pipe cleaners and cut them in half to get six whiskers. Once you have done this, stick each piece of pipe cleaner so that one end is coming from the nose. You should have 3 whiskers sticking out from each side.
- Step 4: Take your second paper plate and cut it in half to make two ears.
- Step 5: Paint the inner part of each ear pink but make sure you leave the edge white!
- Step 6: Turn over your bunny face and use glue or tape to stick the ears on to the top edge of your plate.
- Step 7: Flip it over and meet your bunny! Use your paints to decorate around the edges, giving the bunny’s hats or bowties.
If you want a special challenge, why not look for things around the house that will make good hats and ties for your rabbits? Our favourite is a pasta bowtie!
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the supplies we’ve listed, here are some great substitutes to use instead:
- Swap paint for marker, crayons, colouring pencils or even tissue paper to colour in the ears.
- If you don’t have any googly eyes, you can always paint or draw your bunnies eyes on.
