Our Easter salt dough kids craft is the perfect way to get creative with the little ones this Easter.

Fun for both kids and adults, you could make lovely ornaments to spruce up your Easter table. You can use this easy salt dough recipe to create a wide variety of other decorations and gifts as well, perfect for any season or simply as a rainy day activity.

We’d recommend painting your salt dough creations using acrylic paints for a longer lasting finish. This salt dough is not edible, and children should be supervised at all times.

Ingredients

Prep 10 minutes
Cook 3 hours

Ingredients:
250g plain flour
125g table salt
125ml water

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to its lowest setting.
  2. Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add the water a few tablespoons at a time, mixing well until it comes together into a ball then knead well.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and roll until around 1cm thick.
  5. Cut into the shape you’d like and poke a hole in if you want to hang them as ornaments.
  6. Place your finished items on a lined baking sheet and bake for 3 hrs or until solid.
  7. Leave to cool completely before painting.
