Booths Manzanilla Sherry Wins Again at International Wine Challenge® Awards
Written on July 17th, 2018
We’re very pleased to announce that our Booths brand Manzanilla Dry Sherry has taken home the Champion Fortified Value Trophy in the International Wine Challenge® awards 2018. As part of the judging process, earlier this year the Booths Manzanilla Sherry won Gold, then the prestigious Manzanilla Trophy, and then went on to be shortlisted in the Great Value Fortified category against Morrisons and Tesco. At an awards ceremony last week at the Grosvenor London, Booths were successfully crowned the champion of this category and our Wine Buyer Victoria was invited onto stage to collect the award on behalf of Booths.
The International Wine Challenge® awards are the one of the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competitions:
“The International Wine Challenge® (IWC) owned by William Reed Business Media is now in its 34th year. The IWC is accepted as the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competition which assesses every wine blind and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Throughout the rigorous judging processes, each medal-winning wine is tasted on three separate occasions by at least 10 different judges and awards include medals (Trophy, Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Commended and Great Value awards.”

“We’re thrilled to have picked up the Champion Value Fortified Trophy, along with the Manzanilla Trophy for Booths Manzanilla Sherry. To have been awarded these trophies above all the other wines in the category is really wonderful and a great testament to the hard work and quality focus of our partners at Williams and Humbert who make this for us. I’m personally a huge fan of Sherry and I hope this will encourage many more people to give it a try – at £7.75 a bottle, it’s an absolute steal!”
