Booths Ilkley raises £1800 for Sue Ryder’s Manorlands Hospice with sell out gin and casino night
Booths supermarket in Ilkley has raised a fantastic £1800 for the Manorlands Hospice, by hosting a glamorous casino night complete with gin tastings from regional distillers.
The event was devised by Victoria Spratt, an employee at Booths Ilkley who is running the London Marathon in aid of Sue Ryder’s Manorlands Hospice.
Two regional gin specialists, Mason’s Yorkshire Gin and Batch Brew, Burnley’s first ever gin distillery, supported the event, alongside a team from Bar 26 in Ilkley. Booths producers Fevertree, Hepple Gin, Slingsby Gin, Warner Edwards, Lakes Distillery, Ilkley Brewery and Saltaire Brewery also supported the fundraiser with drinks for Booths’ guests. The Casino tables were run by Funcasinos, a local company based in Otley

“We were very proud to hold such a great community event, with over 70 people attending to enjoy our casino games and gin tastings. The winner of casino night won £50 of vouchers from Booths, and we were very grateful to other local businesses in Ilkley who donated over 30 prizes for our fundraising raffle. I hope to add much more to my fundraising total for Manorlands in the coming months.”

“We are so grateful to Victoria Spratt for organising this brilliant event, and also the Booths store in Ilkley for their amazing support for both Victoria and Manorlands Hospice. £1800 is a fantastic amount, and I want to thank everyone who has contributed, including the businesses who sponsored the evening and everyone who came along to support. We really need support from the Ilkley community so this event has been really fantastic for helping to get that message out. The community specialist palliative care nurse service in Wharfedale is solely provided by the Sue Ryder Manorlands Team, and we need to support of the Wharfedale community to continue to provide these fantastic services. We are immensely grateful for their support as it is needed so much. The money raised will go directly to Manorlands Hospice to help us continue to provide the incredible care we are known for. Thanks once again to everyone involved, it means a great deal.”
