Booths L2P Rider Olivia Barkley-Quinn

Olivia started off as a customer assistant at Hesketh Bank store while studying her Masters in English Literature.
Once I graduated, a job opened in the marketing department and for the last 2 years I have worked as the In Store & Publications Marketing Executive, looking after The Good Grocers magazine and infamous Christmas book.
Outside of work, I love to keep fit and travel as much as possible. Last year I travelled around New Zealand and Australia for 2 months! The secret is to always have another holiday booked so you always have something to look forward to.
How did you get into cycling – any tips for beginners?
I got into cycling after signing up for London 2 Paris. I had never ridden a road bike before, previously only going out on casual bike rides with my little brothers, so this is a whole new challenge for me!
What’s your favourite cycling snack?
I have a sweet tooth so chocolate flavoured protein or energy bars are my go to.
What’s the one piece of kit that you need for a long ride?
Snacks, water and good vibes.
Why are you keen to support Cure Leukaemia by riding the London 2 Paris?
I have always wanted to participate in a physical challenge for charity and after hearing all the inspirational stories from colleagues who participated last year, I wanted to get involved myself. I can’t wait to raise as much money as possible for a brilliant cause.
Where is the most beautiful place you’ve seen in person?
Milford Sound in New Zealand. It is a fiord in the South island of New Zealand that I was lucky to visit last year and is completely magical! I went on a boat trip around the lake and saw dolphins, seals and giant waterfalls — definitely a must see if you’re visiting.
